Sick and tired of crime in our neighborhoods? Join our effort to stop car break-ins in San Francisco. We need neighbors to join us on Wednesday at City Hall for an important Board of Supervisors vote:
WHAT: Join us at City Hall this Wednesday September 13 to support two important crime-fighting initiatives sponsored by Supervisor Norman Yee that focus on car-break-ins.
WHY: San Francisco has the highest rate of car burglaries of any major city in the nation, averaging 70 burglaries a day. Burglars are attracted to rental cars, because they know out-of-town tourists leave expensive luggage in their cars and won’t stay in town to testify in court. The burglars then go on to burglarize the cars of neighbors. Then they may break-in and rob nearby homes. It’s a slippery slope we need to stop.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 13 at 11:30 am. Our ordinances are last on the agenda, so they will be heard around 11:30am or noon.
WHERE: San Francisco City Hall, Room 263.

MORE INFO: The first ordinance requires car rental agencies to remove advertising and reduce visible barcodes from cars. The second ordinance requires that rental companies tell their customers to remove valuables from rental cars to avoid burglaries.
